  • Information technology with an emphasis on free and open source software, information architecture, new media, and participatory culture.

Library Management Experience

  • Created a new library media center, which included purchasing furniture, shelving, computers, and print materials.

  • Supervised library personnel and students workers.

  • Worked cooperatively with faculty and staff in K-12 schools.

  • Managed a collection development budget and charitable donations; included collaborative work with parent and student organizations.

  • Documented library activities and spending, publishing detailed annual reports and regular communication with staff.

Technology Experience

  • Designed XHTML and CSS templates for Joomla and other content management systems.

  • Served as Linux system admin istrator for a web hosting company.

  • Created scripts and Cron jobs to automate Linux/Unix system tasks.

  • Developed information architecture strategies for long-term website planning.

  • Created multimedia presentations using rich media: graphic design, video, and websites.

  • Solved hardware and software issues in both tech consultant and help desk settings.

  • Distributed and contributed to the development of free and open source software.

  • Formulated social media distribution strategies for clients.

Teaching Experience

  • Collaborated on lessons with K-12 teachers on all core subjects as well as electives.

  • Planned lessons with faculty for collaboration and also taught lessons directly to students.

  • Directed small group instruction on projects, research, and independent inquiry.

  • Formulated a methodology for implementing ALA Information Literacy standards.

  • Created a school-wide reading program called R.A.P. (Reading's A Pleasure).
